Leonardo Rubinstein is the new leader of OLX in 4 regions across the globe

Buenos Aires, April 2018- OLX, the leading classified platform in the world with presence in more than 40 countries, announced the appointment of Leonardo Rubinstein as the new CEO for the ALMEA region (Asia, Latin America, Middle East and Africa).

Rubinstein had been working as CEO for Latin America and is now in charge of the expansion and strategy of the platform in more than 30 markets, and is responsible for leading regions of great importance for OLX in 4 of the 5 continents where the Group has a presence (excluding Europe, Russia and the United States).

The new CEO is based in Buenos Aires – where the technological hub of the platform currently stands – . He is an Industrial Engineer graduated from the Technological Institute of Buenos Aires (ITBA) “I am very excited about this new challenge. We selected Buenos Aires as our product and technology hub for Asia, Latin America and Africa, where we are betting strongly on the incorporation of technologies such as artificial intelligence so that selling and buying at OLX is easier, faster and very effective for each one of our users. We continue to incorporate talent to make this possible in our offices in Buenos Aires, Berlin and Delhi” said Rubinstein.

Leonardo joined OLX in early 2013 as Global Vice President of Mobile, later, and until recently, he led the operation in Latin America. Since joining OLX, he had the responsibility of important advances for the company such as the transformation towards a mobile first vision and expansion in Latin America through the opening of offices in 7 countries in the region. Among the key achievements on its management is leading the technology development that will be used in more than 20 markets, impacting millions of users worldwide.  “We are convinced that the scale and talent that we are and want to continue attracting our development centers will allow us to continue being the preferred option for the purchase and sale of used goods, Cars and Real Estate in all our markets. In particular, I am proud to have Argentina playing a leading role in this new stage” he said.

Previously, he held various positions at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Pegasus and Vostu (social gaming company). Additionally, Leonardo lived for three years in the city of Chicago, in the United States, where he worked in financial services
