How we’re revolutionizing climate education: OLX & Prosus Partner to launch Poland’s groundbreaking “Punkt Zwrotny” Educational Center

In September 2025, we were thrilled to be part of something extraordinary when the city of Łódź unveiled a groundbreaking educational initiative with the opening of Climate Educational Center “Punkt Zwrotny” (Turning Point). This state-of-the-art environmental education facility represents a significant milestone in Poland’s approach to climate and sustainability education, and we couldn’t be prouder to be involved.

This innovative center has opened its doors to students, teachers, and families, offering free admission and cutting-edge interactive learning experiences. The project, created by the Mamy Projekt Foundation in collaboration with the city and business community, transforms a renovated historic townhouse into a modern hub for environmental knowledge.

Our strategic partnership and circular economy mission

We are honored to be among the key corporate partners supporting this initiative, together with our parent company Prosus. Our involvement aligns perfectly with our environmental and social responsibility goals, and as a partner in the project, we bring significant expertise in circular economy practices to the educational mission.

Our partnership is particularly meaningful given our market position and environmental impact data. According to our research, the average value of unused electronics in every Polish household amounts to €1,500, with smartphones being the most commonly unused electronic devices (2.7 per household), followed by laptops and tablets. The total value of unused electronics stored in homes reaches €26 billion – equivalent to 3% of Poland’s GDP.

Regarding our partnership with “Punkt Zwrotny”, we shared: “This partnership is for us an opportunity to share knowledge and good practices with a group of recipients we can reach using modern and effective educational tools. At OLX, we believe that decisions made based on reliable information ensure that everyone wins – individual consumers, communities, the economy, and ultimately the entire planet.” This reflects our deep commitment to leveraging our platform expertise for broader environmental education and sustainable consumer behavior.

Innovative educational programs and interactive learning

The center features two flagship educational programs designed for different age groups. “Mission City” serves as an eco-puzzle room specifically designed for teenagers aged 12+ (grades 6-8), focusing on gamification and sustainable urban development to cultivate eco-friendly attitudes and future-proof skills. Meanwhile, “Earth to Children” offers an interactive exhibition for children aged 7+ (grades 1-5), emphasizing learning through play and engaging curiosity about planetary stewardship.

Comprehensive partnership network and future impact

The success of Punkt Zwrotny reflects a robust partnership model that includes honorary partners such as the Ministry of Education and the Mayor of Łódź, alongside corporate supporters including us, PGE (Polish Energy Group), PKO BP, and IKEA, among others. This diverse coalition demonstrates the growing recognition among Polish businesses and institutions of the critical need for comprehensive environmental education.

The center also offers “Turning Point Course,” a series of four educational visits that became available to 100 classes in October, and provides CSR and ESG program opportunities for companies seeking to integrate sustainable development workshops or participate in industry discussions.

We’re excited to continue supporting this incredible initiative as it grows and impacts more lives across Poland!
