Electric EVidence was created to make electric cars easier to understand at a time when they are becoming a bigger part of the conversation.
How far can an EV really travel? Where can it be charged? How long will the battery last? Does it always need to reach 100%? And is owning one actually more affordable?
The answers are out there, but they are often spread across technical articles, manufacturer websites, online forums and conversations filled with unfamiliar terminology. For someone simply trying to understand whether an electric car could work for them, finding a clear answer can become a journey of its own.
That is why we created Electric EVidence.
Curiosity is growing
Interest in electric vehicles is moving quickly across the markets where OLX Group operates. Our marketplace data gives us a direct view of that change through the vehicles people explore and the sellers they contact.
Recent OLX research found that EV leads were growing at double or triple-digit rates year on year across the five markets studied. La Centrale in France recorded growth of 206%, followed by AutoTrader in South Africa at 154.6%, Autovit in Romania at 66%, Standvirtual in Portugal at 60% and Otomoto in Poland at 34.3%.
These numbers tell us that more people are considering electric cars. But growing interest does not mean that every question has been answered. For many people, the transition still comes with uncertainty about charging, range, batteries, prices and what living with an EV is really like.
People do not only need more information. They need information they can actually use.
That’s why we created Electric EVidence
Electric EVidence is an OLX-powered content platform created to make electric mobility easier to understand.
It covers the questions people genuinely have about electric cars, including how charging works, what affects driving range, how batteries age, what ownership can cost and what to consider before buying an EV.
Some stories offer practical guidance. Others look at common claims, explain unfamiliar terms or use data to show how the market is changing. The subject may sometimes be technical, but the language does not need to be.
The aim is not to tell everyone that an electric car is the right choice. It is to give people clear, useful information so they can decide what makes sense for their own needs.
So, what was our starting point?
Electric EVidence begins with curiosity rather than expertise. Readers should not need to understand battery chemistry or charging infrastructure before they can ask a question.
Should an EV always be charged to 100%? What happens to its range during winter? Is charging at home cheaper? Can a used battery still be trusted? These may sound like simple questions, but the answer often depends on the vehicle, the battery, the journey and the local market.
Instead of reducing those answers to a universal rule, Electric EVidence explains the context in plain language. It helps readers understand what matters, what may vary and where they can look for more specific information.
No unnecessary jargon. No assumption that everyone is already an EV expert.
And where does OLX come in?
OLX Group’s Motors brands connect buyers, sellers and dealers across different markets. Through those marketplaces, we can see how interest changes, which vehicles attract attention and how local factors influence the choices people make.
With Electric EVidence, we can share what we are learning across our marketplaces in a way that is clear and useful. Insights from brands such as La Centrale, AutoTrader, Autovit, Standvirtual and Otomoto can help explain how electric mobility is developing differently across countries.
It also creates a natural bridge between learning and exploring. Someone may begin with a question about range, charging or battery life and, when they feel ready, continue their journey by discovering electric cars available through one of our Motors marketplaces.
The content remains useful on its own. The connection to our brands simply helps people move from understanding electric cars to seeing what those choices look like in the real market.
Evidence for an electric future
The transition to electric mobility will not look the same everywhere or happen at the same speed for everyone. Infrastructure, affordability, policy and personal needs will continue to shape the decisions people make.
What we can do is make those decisions easier to understand.
Electric EVidence brings together practical answers, market insights and stories designed for people who are curious about electric cars, whether they already own one, are considering their first EV or simply want to understand where mobility is heading.
Because the electric future comes with plenty of questions. We are here to bring the EVidence.
